Shipp Lakefront Villa
Overview
Six bedrooms on Lake Ray Hubbard, twenty minutes east of Dallas. A gated pool with a diving board and an eight-seat hot tub, half an acre of fenced yard running toward the water, and kayaks you can carry down to the lake. Inside there is a billiard room, a media room with a desk for work-cations, and two patios — the upstairs one looking straight out over the lake. Sleeps fourteen across six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, which makes it one of the few homes in the area where a large family or a group of couples can all stay under one roof.
You have the entire house to yourselves. No shared spaces, no host on site.

Three of the full baths are en-suite to a bedroom; the fourth is en-suite to the billiard room on the first floor, so the downstairs living space has its own. Two of the six bedrooms are on the ground floor, along with two of the full bathrooms, so guests who would rather not take the stairs can stay entirely on one level.
Indoors
- Kitchen — fully loaded with cookware, dishes and utensils, opening onto a large dining table, a bar area and a breakfast nook with lake views.
- Living room — 75” smart TV and sound system under high ceilings, with a gas and wood fireplace. Firewood is not provided.
- Billiard room — pool table, 55” smart TV and an en-suite bathroom with a shower-tub combo.
- Media room — 65” smart TV, full-size pull-out sofa bed, board games, books and puzzles, plus an office desk if someone has to work.
- Laundry — washer and dryer in the house, detergent provided.
- Wi-Fi — high-speed throughout, and it reaches into the yard.
Outdoors
- Gated pool — lounge chairs, an outdoor shower, a dining area and two umbrellas. There is a diving board, used at your own discretion.
- Hot tub — eight seats, beside the pool, open year round.
- Half-acre fenced yard — corn hole and a seating area around a gas fire pit, propane provided.
- Kayaks — free to take down to the lake. Life vests are required and provided.
- Grills — both gas and charcoal, propane provided.
- Two patios — the first floor looks over the pool and yard with seating and dining; the second floor is the one with the lake view.
Good to know
- No parties or events. This is a residential street and the neighbors are close.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere in the house, or near open doors and windows.
- Groups under 25. If most of the adults in your group are under 25, we ask for a separate refundable $750 damage deposit alongside the booking. If everyone in the group is under 21, no alcohol on the property.
- The diving board and the kayaks are used at your own risk. Life vests are required on the water and are kept with the kayaks.
- Towels. Bed linens, bath towels and pool towels are all provided.
The neighborhood
A quiet residential pocket just off Route 66 in Rowlett. Sidewalks on every street, and almost the only cars that pass the house belong to people who live here — it is an easy place to walk or run in the morning.
You are 20 miles from downtown Dallas, 36 miles from DFW Airport and 37 miles from AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Closer to hand, Ripley’s Believe It or Not is 34 miles away in Grand Prairie, and Six Flags Over Texas — the original park in the chain — is 51 miles out.
